I agree with Daniel, that's a long time to wait for PL6 and NWBC will loose acceptance if it's necessary to use native SAPGUI for several transactions

NWBC 5.0 PL7: What roles are missing for enabling ME51N sidepanel?
Hi NWBC experts,
I have got all 3 sidepanel roles for logistics, and now I run ME51N in NWBC for desktop, but on the sidepanel, I got the following error message:
"Page BSSP_SP_VISUAL_ENTERPRISE_MATNR: no authorization for activity 'Display' (user xxx)"
Can anyone tell what authorization is missing for this sidepanel? More, for such an error, how can I find the missing roles?
Thanks.
Dong
Re: NWBC 5.0 PL5 available for download
The link in my post is to a SAP note listing changes in different patch levels. SAP removes previous patch levels when they release new ones. The current patch level for 5.0 is PL10 and you should be able to find it in
Software Downloads
-> Support Packages and Patches
-> A - Z Index
-> "B"
-> NETWEAVER BUSINESS CLIENT
-> NWBC NW BUSINESS CLIENT 5.0
-> Win32
Re: NWBC 5.0 PL7: What roles are missing for enabling ME51N sidepanel?
Hi Dong Zhu,
For this sidepanel to work. You would need to have visual enterprise installed on your system.
Please make sure that is there first.
If it is, then run a authorization trace on it and check which authorizations you are missing.
Re: NWBC 5.0 PL7: What roles are missing for enabling ME51N sidepanel?
Hi Jakob,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Since I am not a SAP Basis person, I will need to get more detailed info to advise the right persons to do needed installations. Could you point out more info or links for:
- Where and how to find info for Visual Enterprise? Our company is very big so I expected all the needed components have been installed normally. Why does it need this one, because it is only needed by NWBC?
- How to run authorization trace, by tcode? I guess it is normally a special task for the authorization persons.
Thanks a lot!
Dong
Re: NWBC 5.0 PL7: What roles are missing for enabling ME51N sidepanel?
Hello
In the back end system, use ST01 & if you are not Auth guy then contact them or raise any ticket with the proper screen shots.
How to take the trace please find the below link:

Hope it is helpful.
Thanks

NWBC analysis
I need to assess what it will take to implement the NWBC version of ESS/MSS/Open Enrollment, a rough estimate of the $ and hours required for this.
Is setting up SAP's standard NWBC based ESS/MSS/Open Enrollment something that a configurator would do or does that require a NWBC developer to set-up? I would assume we would need to stand-up a standard version of the NWBC system to do a gap analysis to understand what customization would be needed. Once we have a gap analysis, we would then need to put together an estimate of costs for a developer to implement.
But, first is the analysis. Does anyone have an approach for how we would do this, timing, and costs to perform this analysis?
NWBC 5.0 service map and workcenter icons are not displayed when set in PFCG role
Hi experts,
I'm facing an issue with service map and work center icons in NWBC 5.0.
The latest updates were applied to NWBC trying to fix this but nothing has changed.
When we configure an icon in a service map (or as a workcenter) they don't get displayed and we get a 404 not found error.
If we don't set any icon in the service map we get to see the default icon.
PFCG role
NWBC with icon set in service map
If I take out the icon from the service map this is what I see in NWBC (displays default icon)
Is there a previous missing step in regards to these icons? or a specific transaction for NWBC cache?
I cleared my browser cache (in Chrome) several times and that's not it.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance and regards,
Laura
Re: NWBC 5.0 Installation
Hi Saad,
Thank you for the usefull Information and links.
The links are about 5.0 installation and configurations, but as we are currently on NWBC3.2,
Do we need to uninstall 3.2 and go for fresh installation of 5.0 or is there any process to upgrade.
Regards,
Sandeep.
Re: NWBC 5.0 Installation
Hi Sandeep,
As far as my knowledge and experience is concerned then it will be better to uninstall the older version first. But then every case and scenario is different. It will be better to copy the software somewhere and then we can apply both the cases and see the results. I can't choose one option right now. Best of luck
Warm Regards
Saad
No NWBC Internet Explorer SSO
Hi everyone,
I have sucessfully installed the Single Sign-On with Kerberos and it is working fine in SAP GUI, as well as the transaction NWBC. However if I try to enter in NWBC directly through the Internet Explorer it doesn't do Single Sign-On.
My questions now is:
Do I need anything else beside the Single Sign-On with Kerberos configuration in order to Internet Explorer do the SSO?

Can you open a IE window from NWBC
we are using NWBC for our receiving, audit and induct process and a auditor may need to open a IE window to review a FAI
Currently it opens in another NWBC window and the user can not edit, can we cause it to open in IE or other browser?
Re: No NWBC Internet Explorer SSO
Hi André
Is it SSO 2.0 or just SNC?
NWBC officially only supports single sign on 2.0 with kerberos.
Re: NWBC 5.0 service map and workcenter icons are not displayed when set in PFCG role
Hi Laura,
Please check if the services for workcenter and pictograms are enabled in SICF.
Also check in the mime repository if they are there.
If needed then give me a call over skype on monday ;-)
Re: Can you open a IE window from NWBC
Hi Vickie,
If you enable the stand-alone for the application in PFCG, then it should open in a browser.

Launch SAP GUI for Windows from NWBC for HTML
Hi -
I am trying to achieve the following:
- Users log into NWBC for HTML for performing the majority of their day to day tasks
- I want to publish a link to transaction "SMEN" on NWBC for HTML, which I would like to force to open on SAP GUI for Windows
- I want to bypass the logon screen and do not have users enter their credentials
Has someone ever done something like this? Is this possible at all? I have done similar scenarios using SAP Transaction iViews on the Portal, but never using NWBC for HTML.
Thanks.
